I have too many knitting projects going on right this moment. I really need to reign them in, somehow.
In no particular order:
- Clara’ cardigan. All that remains is to seam one more sleeve. I know, I know, but I hate seaming, and I did a horrible job on the first sleeve, so the urge to rip it all out is very strong. No deadline.
- Celestarium. I just need to finish weaving in loose ends. Christmas gift.
- Southern Skies. Probably 30 more rounds, plus whatever edging I decide to do. No deadline.
- Greyhaven Cowl #1. About halfway done. No deadline.
- Greyhaven Cowl #2. Not yet started. Preferably done by Christmas, but not vital.
- Helix. About halfway done, and it feels like I’ve been working on it forever. I will be carrying this with me everywhere from now on. Christmas gift.
- Elizabeth. Only on the first repeat of Chart 3 (of a total of 8 charts). This I’m doing for myself, and there’s no rush. At least, I think it’s for myself. It might end up going to someone else, but clearly, there’s no time pressure on this.
- (And now) Hitchhiker. Since I was dumb and cast on another new project around 1 this morning, I’ll add this to my works in progress list. It’s going pretty quickly, but it’s one of those projects where each row of progress takes a teeny bit longer than the last one.
But see, I need to clear a bunch of these projects out of the way, because I’m trying to be good and move a number of these to the finished object list before I start the next project I really want to be working on: Shipwreck. I’m trying to be good and not even order the wool for it until I’m ready (meaning, fewer projects in progress). (So hey, if anyone is looking for Christmas gift ideas for me, Jimmy Beans Wool gift certificates are always a good idea.)
So really, only two things that have to be done by Christmas, with another that would be nice to be done. Celestarium will take me about 30 minutes. A Greyhaven Cowl (assuming all goes well) takes about 10 hours. And I think Helix is going to take the rest of my life. Or at least all of my non-computer, non-sleeping time between now and Christmas.
And I need to stop splitting open my fingers with my knitting needles. It’s really getting kind of silly.
Bring the seaming to Thursday night. The peer pressure will get it done.
*laugh* Fair point.
