A run of good days.

Let’s see. On the ‘good day’ front, I last updated on Thursday. I have had an unbroken streak of good days since then.

Friday, Jenn and I made it in and out of Tyson’s without dying or running into a stupid number of people. Neat things were acquired at Levenger. We had lunch at my favoritest breakfast place ever. Then Jenn treated us to manicures and pedicures, during which I acquired sparkly navy blue fingernails and iridescent peacock teal toenails. The afternoon was spent being crafty. After a nap, I discovered that dinner and drinks were soon to be had, with the added bonus of a Jim. And finally, shortly before bed, I got a chance to see Al for the first time in a few weeks.

Saturday, after a good night’s sleep, I headed home at an early (but not too early) hour, to find a sleepy G and boisterous kittens. We spent a quiet morning at home, and eventually worked out way out into the world to run a couple of errands. After an abortive attempt to go buy shoes (aborted because the mall we were going to was right smack dab in the middle of a parking frenzy for the Virgin Free Fest), we ended up going to lunch at Squisito, a new restaurant in our neighborhood. Very tasty food was had, and we went home for a quiet afternoon and evening, happily occupied with our individual geekiness.

Sunday, I woke up ridiculously early, and got a lot of progress made on the super secret crazy intricate knitting project. Then, G and I ventured south into Silver Spring to meet up with Beth, Brian, Huey, and Cathy for dim sum at Oriental East. Though we ended up not seeing Huey or Cathy, the four of us who did arrive managed to have a good and tasty time, including getting to see Bubbles, Beth’s new car. Then home for a nap, and more knitting, and seeing the progress Teresa has made on her very own super secret knitting project. I had some interesting and exciting developments in other areas of my life, which will remain under cover for the moment. The one downside was finding out that I had made a major mistake several rows back on my knitting project, which will likely require starting over.

Despite the knitting SNAFU, the good of the last few days far (far, far) outweighed the bad. Throughout it all, my left knee has held up very well. I got out of the house and saw some friends that I haven’t seen in years and years, as well as some friends I usually see about once a week. I had a few tasty meals. I got to spend time with G. I spent time knitting and geeking. I now have pretty colored nails which make me smile when I see them. I’ll take it, and more like it.
