Attempting to recreate a long-lost mixed tape.

I posted this on Facebook this other day:

I almost have a series of songs in my head. It’s an almost earworm. It’s maddening.

(Ages and ages ago, my boyfriend at the time had made an awesome mix tape. I know it had Nine Inch Nails, Concrete Blonde, Depeche Mode, and Erasure on it. I can *almost* remember the songs, and the order they’re in, but not quite. And it’s driving me up the wall. I’ve sent messages to the two people I know who might actually have a copy of the tape, to see if I can get the track listing.)

Yeesh.

Shortly after that, I started a conversation with two of the folks who were an integral part of our strange little social group back in the day, asking them for their recollections. We all brainstormed for a bit, and tracks I hadn’t thought of were jiggled loose.

Now, I know that this is far from the awesome tape that we had back in 1991-1992, but it’s a pretty bouncy little mix, and it’s doing great things for my productivity.

One day, I’ll find the original track listing, but until then, my little personal obsession continues. 🙂
