As mentioned previously, I want to learn to sew at least as well as I knit. I’ve taken one class, where I made a tote bag, and I’m taking another class next weekend, where I will learn all about adding zippers to projects. G’s parents gave me an awesome sewing / embroidery machine for Christmas. I have acquired a few books with beginner projects and tips and tricks. And now, I have found fabric with which I really want to be able to make something awesome. But, I’m not allowed to buy it until I have enough skill to make something awesome. This should be good incentive!
Restraint surrounding crafting supplies…what’s that?
Michelle: It’s something new I’m trying this year. I’m not sure how successful I’ll be, but it’s worth a shot. 🙂
When you get to the zippers part please take notes or video or both. I need help with that skill.
Not to be an enabler, but fabric, much like yarn, often isn’t there when you want to buy it later. More than yarn. Dyers generally make new dyelots. Fabric companies ofen don’t do multiple runs on a design. BUY IT. It’s really too cool not to.
Missy: hmmm. You raise an interesting and fascinating point. I shall investigate my slush fund. 🙂
But do not under any circumstances wherein you don’t want to be eating ramen for the next year look at anything else at Spoonflower.
Why would you say the word spoonflower!?! And risk infecting those of us who were blissfully unaware of its existance?!! I think this was planned torture… The innocent souls like myself doth protest, and the disappear back to their new rabbit hole. (Puts accusatory pointing finger back in pocket and scampers away to Spoonflower)
Missy: Oh, indeed. I have an order of magnitude more fabric in my cart than I can afford to buy. 🙂
Stephanie: *giggle* I can’t believe you didn’t know of spoonflower! It is so much awesome! I mean. Um. I am completely repentant, and beg your forgiveness.

Gahhhhhh!!!!
“Wooly Jumpers!” sounds like something a 60s superhero would say.
I’d never heard of spoonflower until 15 minutes ago. Now I’m in love. This is an evil site.
